Event Details

Attendees will go through a nonprofit startup roadmap, learning about the key tasks and events that happen in the early days of a nonprofit’s life cycle.

We will focus on the more commonly asked questions:

  1. “Should I start a nonprofit?”
  2. “What does a board of directors do?”
  3. “What paperwork is needed to start a nonprofit?”
  4. “What about grants?”

As well as the commonly overlooked concepts:

  1. “How to conduct a needs assessment”
  2. “What is fiscal sponsorship?”
  3. “How to partner with other NPOs”
  4. “How business and nonprofits overlap,” with a particular focus on the necessity for capacity building in the early days.

Attendees will leave with a checklist and the opportunity to connect with other early stage nonprofits.

Three Takeaways:

  1. Each attendee will learn some of the next steps they need to take, wherever they are in the life cycle of their nonprofit.
  2. Each attendee will have improved familiarity with critical concepts for early-stage NPOs.
  3. Each attendee will get connected to at least one resource or partner to help further their mission.
