Join industry BD expert, Cassie Wells, owner of Modern Business Development, as she guides you through the importance of Business Development and how it can positively impact your business.
What you’ll learn:
- Gain answers to the following questions:
- What is Business Development?

- When is it a good time to invest in BD?
Helpful Tips when making connections:
- Best practices for attending events
- Best ways to follow up
About Cassie Wells:
Cassie Wells was born in Phoenix, but moved to Oro Valley at the age of nine. During high school, she played basketball and volleyball developing her competitiveness. At 18, she came back to the valley to attend ASU. Cassie was hired straight out of an ASU career fair in 2012, worked with the same company for over 10 years, but took a break to part time for a few years in the middle to stay at home with her two babies.
Founded in 2022, Modern Business Development (or Modern BD) serves to fill the niche market of subcontractors who both need Business Development services, but might not be ready to financially invest in a full-time Director of BD. Cassie has seen firsthand the hesitancy of hiring Business Development professionals. There’s concern of investing so many onboarding resources into a new hire with the unknown if they’re the right “fit.” There’s the question of how long does one need to wait until those in the industry recognize this person, let alone associate him or her with one’s company. There’s a fear of hiring a rockstar, only to have him or her leave for the next highest dollar. It’s scary. But it doesn’t have to be.
