Renata Henderson – Licensed Cosmetologist Q&A

Diversity in Entrepreneurship 

Renata is a hair guru and licensed cosmetologist with over fourteen years of  experience. After working in a salon for a period of time she became a freelance contractor. She has been a fully independent entrepreneur for the past 6 years and has plans for more beauty-related entrepreneurial endeavors in the future. 

Where does your love for Hairstyling come from?

“My love for hairstyling started when I was a young. I was always trying to do different styles on my dolls or even sometimes using my younger brother as a model. I even got in trouble a few times for cutting off my dolls hair as well as my own. I feel like it was a passion that was instilled in me at birth.”

What do you specialize in and what is your favorite service to do? 

“I consider myself a multicultural hairstylist so I have experience in many different hair types and textures. I love doing anything from hair color, hair cuts, blow-outs, etc. My main service I specialize in is hair extensions of all types.” 

“I would love to create a space for women that would offer support and guidance in pursuing their passions and dreams.”

Outside of hairstyling what are you passionate about?

“I am passionate about helping others, especially women. I currently serve on a board for a Single Mom’s Ministry, Single Mom’s That Rock. I would love to have a non-profit in the future.“
