This construction tax workshop is a free hour for business owners in the construction industry, general contractors, homebuilders and specialty trades.

Construction income doesn’t look like a typical paycheck. Pay apps, subcontractor payments and equipment purchases can land in different tax years depending on timing you control. That’s exactly why this construction tax workshop focuses on deadlines instead of theory.

Some of what decides your 2026 tax bill has to happen before Dec. 31. Some of it you’ll still decide months later, when you file. The line between those two isn’t where most people think it is. That’s exactly what this construction tax workshop covers: three decisions, and which of them actually have a deadline.

What You’ll Cover in This Construction Tax Workshop

• The equipment depreciation strategy and the date that actually matters
• Which year your income and expenses land, whether it’s the December pay app, the sub you pay now or in January
• The retirement plan and what its real deadline is

All three set the same number, your 20% deduction, the one your return calls qualified business income, or QBI. You’ll leave knowing which of the three you still have time to act on, and which ones you’ve already decided without realizing it.

Bring a real situation. That’s the best use of the hour.

Resilience isn’t about pretending things don’t hurt or pushing through without feeling it. It’s about learning how to recover. The faster you can get back up, the more energy you have left for what actually matters.

In this resilience workshop, you’ll learn how to cultivate resilience and use it as a tool. You’ll practice navigating challenges, growing through setbacks and moving forward in both life and career.

Dress up and get entered to win a Boo Basket! This Halloween costume contest is all about celebrating the season with your fellow CO+HOOTS members, no matter how you like to work.

Members, come work from the office like you normally would, just bring your best costume. Not a member yet? Drop in and cowork with us for free that day, on us, plus enjoy a pop-up coffee cart while you show off your costume. Costume optional, but definitely encouraged.

Halloween is one of our favorite excuses to shake up a normal workday. Whether you’re deep in a deadline or just here for the coffee, a costume contest is a low-effort way to make the office feel a little more fun for a few hours.

No pressure to go elaborate. A costume can be as simple as a fun hat or a themed t-shirt, or as involved as a full group costume with your favorite coworking neighbors. Either way, it’s an excuse to be a little silly together.

How the Halloween Costume Contest Works

Wear your best costume to the office on Oct. 30. Throughout the day, the coffee cart will be there if you want a little pick-me-up. At 3 PM, we’ll announce the winner of the Boo Basket, so make sure you’re around to see if it’s you.

• A costume contest winner announced at 3 PM
