Accessibility Commitment
CO+HOOTS is committed to making our digital presence accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to conform with applicable accessibility standards and best practices in web accessibility, and continuously improve our site’s usability so everyone can equally access our content and services.
Standards & Guidelines
We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, at Level AA, as established by the W3C’s Web Accessibility Initiative.
What We’ve Done So Far
To support accessibility, we have:
-
Added alternative (alt) text for meaningful images and graphical elements.
-
Structured pages with semantic HTML (headings, lists, landmarks, ARIA roles where needed).
-
Ensured keyboard navigability (tab order, focus indicators, skip-to-content links).
-
Adopted color contrast ratios that meet or exceed minimum guidelines.
-
Resizable text / scalable layouts.
-
Captioning or transcripts for multimedia content, where available.
-
Tested portions of the site with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
-
Conducted internal reviews and audits to identify and remediate barriers.
Known Limitations & Ongoing Work
While we strive for full accessibility, there may still be issues or areas for improvement. Some possible limitations include:
-
Newly published content (blog posts, images) might not yet be fully audited.
-
Third-party integrations or embedded content may not always meet our accessibility standards.
-
Some complex interactive components or custom elements may not yet have perfect keyboard or screen reader support.
We are actively monitoring and remediating these issues.
