MIDWEEK MINDTWEAK: Transform a Life, Become a Mentor!
June 27, 2018 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pmFree
CO+HOOTS Foundation presents Transform a Life, Become a Mentor!
New Pathways for Youth is dedicated to ending the cycle of poverty and violence in our community by empowering youth to overcome challenges and fulfill their potential. Through mentoring and life-skill development, our youth declare new possibilities for themselves and achieve goals. Our mentors are caring, dedicated volunteers who want to meaningfully invest in a youth’s life. Come learn how you can transform a life through mentoring!
Mark Garcia’s charismatic personality is infectious enough to not only capture the interests and attention of adult volunteers but also teenagers and young adults as Training and Curriculum Manager at New Pathways for Youth. Mark is responsible for facilitating all life skill development workshops and mentor trainings — an essential component to New Pathways’ Transformative Mentoring typology that sets the organization apart from other social/ recreational mentoring programs.
Prior to New Pathways for Youth, Mark worked for The Kroger Company for ten years in multiple capacities as Strategic People Initiative Specialist, Regional Trainer and Senior HR Field Trainer. Mark has a Master’s of Science in Training and Performance Improvement from Capella University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from Arizona State University. Mark’s accomplishments include Valley Leadership Institute, Class 36, and he is currently participating in the Hispanic Leadership Institute.
